Edges Sports Wall of Fame

For those of you who have not met Chris or don’t know him well, he is a huge sports fan. He follows just about every New Zealand international sport and has had the pleasure of attending many iconic fixtures, including the 2011 Rugby World Cup Final, rugby test matches at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Eden Park in Auckland, and Athletic Park in Wellington.

Chris watched every run of Martin Crowe’s legendary 299 against Sri Lanka, where Crowe became the only player ever dismissed for that exact score in Test cricket. He was also at the Basin Reserve when Brendon McCullum became the first New Zealander to score a triple century in Test cricket.

His sporting experiences extend well beyond rugby and cricket. Chris has witnessed Sarah Ulmer and the Evers-Swindell twins win gold at the 2004 Athens Olympics, attended a Test match at Lord’s, an ODI at The Oval, snooker at the Wembley Conference Centre, and motor racing through the streets of Wellington. The list goes on and on.

Given this passion, it was only natural that Chris began collecting sports memorabilia. His aim is to collect as many New Zealand international match-worn or match-used items as possible, across as many different sports as he can.

Below is some of the memorabilia Chris has collected so far. If you have an item that you think Chris might be interested in adding to the wall, please get in contact.

Tohu Harris

When Tohu Harris needed one of his match used jerseys framed quickly for a 21st present we pulled out all stops to get it done in time. Chris was over the moon to receive a 2024 ANZAC Warriors players jersey personally signed by Tohu.

Kane Williamson

Chris was delighted to receive this 2017 Champions trophy vest worn and signed by Kane Williamson to add to the wall.

Alison Shanks

This top was used by Alison At the 2009 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Pruskow, Poland where she won gold in the  individual pursuit on 25th  March in a time of 3:29.807 beating Wendy Houvenaghel of Great Britain. Alison also won silver in the team pursuit.

Luca Harrington

We recently framed up Luca’s 3 most prized bibs, his 2025 World Champion Gold bib, the bib he wore for his first win and his first yellow bib. Chris was extremely grateful to receive the bib Luca wore during the qualification rounds at the 2025 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2025 – Men’s ski big air
